Charlie Jones perspex bass
Charlie Jones came to Crimson Guitars in order to create his new unique custom perspex signature bass guitar. The original idea was to replicate his original perspex bass, this we managed… in the process we lightened the instrument by a good 10lbs. Most perspex guitars and basses are slab bodied and very very heavy, at Crimson Guitars we love a challenge and taught ourselves how to carve the material by hand, as you can see it looks amazing.
We had the Perspex cast with pearlescent glitter suspended throughout to create an interesting effect under lights and the clear cast pickup was created for us by the genius’ at Wizard Pickups. Charlie prefers an un-sullied magnetic tones that allow the phenomenal tone of the perspex to sing through.. and perspex really does sound great, just listen to Goldfrapp to hear for yourself.
