moonshine II
The Moonshine II was one of the first multi-scale guitars we built at Crimson Guitars and also one of the first with custom hardware made in house. The subtle fanned frets angling from Gibson to Fender scale lengths make for a supremely comfortable yet subtle instrument. Custom hardware and bespoke scatterwound twin humbuckers combine with the exotic tonewoods to make one of our favourite guitars.
The brief was to create a boutique guitar based on the original Moonshine but with an especially stable and bright through neck design, we used a multi-laminate of Wenge and purpleheart to create the strong neck and the tone chambered mahogany body offsets the brightness of tone from the neck nicely. The guitar is topped off with a locally sourced flamed pearwood top and a gloss lacquer finish.
