PAF Bass

In a design derived from our small bodied PAF guitar this is one of the few Les Paul type basses that also happens to be well balanced.  A lightweight spalted beech body and locally sourced flamed pearwood top combined with top quality mahogany for the through neck make for a lightweight instrument, this combined with careful carving in the Crimson Guitars workshops result in a perfect weight distribution and balance on the strap.

 The finish is a low gloss natural oil over a blue stained top, we also stained the pin-stripes that go through the neck and the inlay dots are hollow alloy circles with a blue abalone center.. you sense a theme here no?  The electronics are simple and straight-forward, a matched pair of custom wound Wizard pickups direct-mounted to the body are passively wired through volume, tone and blend pots.. simplicity is often key when designing a custom guitar or bass and it is well rewarded here.  All in all we are very proud of this visually stunning and tonally versatile custom bass guitar.
