A demo of some of the sounds you can get while playing this custom built version of the Fender Stratocaster. The design has been changed and updated and there is nothing ‘standard’ about this guitar. The neck is a three piece multi-laminate of flamed maple with a Goncalo Alves fretboard and the body is a single piece of locally grown Yew. The body was shot blasted to remove some of the soft sections of grain and the guitar is very tactile under the natural oil finish. In the quest for great tone the hand made pickups are mounted direct to the body and the neck is bolted on using threaded inserts and machine bolts.. a much stronger and more stable alternative to the usual humble wood screw used. The headstock is ‘backwards’ this means the bass strings are longer than the treble and that there is a better string to string tension giving a better tone to the low notes than is the norm.
