..the workshop looks a little different this week.. it’s funny how the UK comes to a conplete standstill if a little snow falls.. we just can’t cope with real weather.. especially us southern fairies, the Scots are watching us run around like idiots and quietly chuckling away!!

Giles doesn’t look quite so white as usual.. but he can still find a snowball I’ve thrown amongst all that white!

still it makes for a change.. unfortunately it also resulted in my grandfather slipping up and breaking his arm.. he’s alright now..

in a fit of irony I decided to spring clean… in preperation for the next stage of the build process.. ie. the first.. tomorrow we begin with a new batch of instruments!

we have three bespoke guitars going through a daily finishing process..

Thomas’ custom Robert Fripp Slimline

Daves left handed Plagiarist

..as well as sundry backplates etc..

and Andrews 8 string guitar.. they all recieve a coat of natural wax which is then polished by hand.. a long but worthwhile process!

on to Archies RF Hollow.. the mother of pearl inlay is marked out

cut with a jewelers saw

and recessed into the headstock..

and then we start again with the finishing.. this diary has been rather sparse but..

over the next few weeks you’ll see most of this timber become something much more interesting!
All my best,
Ben
