Thursday begins with my Riverford organic meat and veg box arriving.. along with Rob (the drivers) dog..

who ends up getting very very wet!!

time to finish the template, small pieces of dowel are glued in to creat areas for the screws

and template #1 is there..

onto #2.. (by this point I’m very bored with breathing dust!!

#1 is used to match #2..

and then I make a template, with another template, to make a template…. ?

the fingerboard area is marked out

and the wiring cavity is shaped using my Japanese Saw File..

and here we are…  templates are obviously the most important bits in guitar making.. so it is worth spending haf a day on them.

and creating a lot of very nasty MDF dust!

and she is rough cut on the bandsaw..

before planing the top flat by hand..

the various cavities are predrilled to make life easier on the router

and here I lengthen the wiring cavity..

and after a very very dusty day here she is.. ready, pretty much, for the addition of the bookmatched flame maple cap tomorrow..
