Tuesday 19th February ’08

1

the day begins with the careful drilling of the various control holes

2

the pillar drill is used, with the depth stop set, to thickness the control cavity to 4mm

3

it is then tidied up with gouges and small violin-makers planes

4

the control plates have all the necessaries drilled

5

the nut slot is cut

6

the back of the headstock is engraved and the engraving filled with padouk dust and glue..

7

after everything has dried she is tidied up.. and works quite well

8

in order to match the colour of a PRS.. my favourite blue actually.. some time is sent playing around with stains

9

but it works out quite well..

10

the next step is the 15 coats of sanding sealer

11

front and back..

12

after several hours everything is dried the entire guitar is sanded through the wet and dry grits

13

and then several layers of wax are applied and polished

14

she’s looking quite well.. and the pups are impressed too..

16

the engraving came out quite well..

18

and I couldn’t resist installing the bridge

17

just to see what the final effect will be… tomorrow!

All my best,

Ben
