Bud and Jasper have been most unimpressed with life, then again having your naughty bits removed has to be a bad thing..

more multi-laminate neck building.. this one is out of a chunk of solid Santos farmed rosewood

it is chopped into sections on the bandsaw.. while Giles looks on in the hope that something here is edible!!

and then each section is run over the planer to roughly flatten her down (I say roughly.. most luthiers would glue the neck together at this point…)

however I insist on having the best possible joint and that has to be done by hand with a good old No. 7!!

the maple veneers are aded and she is glued together under loads of pressure..

the other blanks that have already dried are all stripped of excess glue and wood

and run over the planer/thicknesser again.. giving lovely look to the maple neck, and finally lettin us see the neck to be of the Crimson Conspiracy guitar!!

here you have about 15 seperate guitar and bass necks in potentia… should last a while methinks..

On to Tim’s Robert Fripp Slimline.. she’s starting to look the part.. especially when the beeswax finish is polished up a bit..

however just one more coat is applied.. she should be ready to put together this week!! My favourite bit!!

Bud and Jasper still unhappy.. they need to wear these monstrosites for another week yet!!!

.. the Soft-Top guitar I built last week recieves her first coat of lacquer..

I love the way they metalic sunburst effect brings out the grain of the Spruce top.. though I am really looking forward to building one of these beasties with a highly figured top and a natural finish!!

needless to say the other guitars undergoing the lacquering process all recieve a coat or two themselves..
‘Till Friday.. yours truly.
