Crimson Guitars are now more online than ever.., link through from the top menu..

a mess.. but a happy one at least..

as ever everything starts off with the finishing..

oil is applied.. in this case to Archies Elm top RF hollow

while I do some piezo wiring with the basic soldering iron.. the old soldering station blew up last week and we’re awaiting the replacement and backup!!

I love this shot! .. the left-handed PAF Hollow will soon be ready for hardware!

the piezo bridge is now ready and is installed in the paf..

and she is strung up.. and wait’s for the new soldering stations..

a new veneer is added to the paf doublecut headstock

the tuner holes reamed out

and the new inlay cut from the sheet of laminated abalone.. or ‘ablam’ if you will..

she is recessed in and glued in place..

I take over lacquering duties for now and here are a few that are in the spray booth right now..

on to hardware.. with a swift change of blade we start cutting aluminium for a new tunematic bridge for the paf hollow..

it makes a change being in the engineering section again..

red-bull powered Igor..

working away on polishing the new hollowbody!

now.. the sun’s out so we get on with building the new extension to the workshop… not too pretty right now but we’ve chosen to use recycled scaffolding planks for everything!!

.. Jasper waiting for someone to trip over his ball and give him something to chase!

testing testing.. MIDI-tastic!

and finally the new solder-stations arrive!

I like them set up on the wall out of the way of the guitar..

..sneaky peek.. she’s really coming together now!

and this one is starting to blow my mind..

the variax board has been designed to be difficult and this one is not playing ball!!

.. anyone got a spare variax they want to trade in?? pretty please??

enough of wiring.. I need dust in my lungs to think..

the vanquish outline is marked out

she is bandsawed

and the neck pocket shaped..

the headstock extensions are cut to size and prepared

and, after the top is checked for fit they are clamped in place..

jasper.. still waiting..

and the workshop now is in way too much of a mess.. we start again in the morning..
all my best, Ben
