This is a selection of our essential and best selling tools.  Tried, tested and used daily in our own workshops.  This toolkit is everything you will need to be able to maintain the quality of your guitar’s frets with a 5% discount when bought in this bundle.

This essential toolkit consists of the following:

  • The Notched Straight Edge reads the straightness of the fretboard itself and fits over the frets of Fender, Gibson and PRS standard scale lengths.
  • The 16″ Levelling Beam is great for leveling frets, you can have different grades of paper on each face to reduce final polishing time, but they come into their own in other parts of the workshop, being useful for a thousand sanding and leveling tasks even replacing hand planes in some cases.
  • Next, a Traditional 3-corner Fret Dressing & Crowning File to reshape each fret for the optimum intonation.
  • The Fret Rocker helps you pinpoint high frets, it is a 5 sided precision straight edge that you hold over 3 frets if it rocks the middle fret is high and must be leveled.
  • Our Medium (400 grit), Fine (600 grit) and Superfine (1200 grit) Fret Rubbers replace the need for using steel wool to polish the file scratches out

You also have options to add, at a discount, the following:

  • A Fret Finishing File
  • A Rockin’ Neck Rest
  • A standard Fretting Hammer or the Deadblow Fretting Hammer
  • A 10″ Guitar Saw for Fret Slotting

I bought this set a few months ago it did my first fret job with it and it turned out awesome! There were some problems though, the Notched Straight Edge was missing from the package, but Mrs Dale Crowe was very helpful in getting me everything I paid for. Kudos to Ben and his team for designing and building a great tool set!

Outstanding material, though it took some time for delivery & the tools missed my holiday, last weekend I attempted my first fret redress & leveling. Thanks to the online tutorials a job I would have left to a pro without hesitation is now my fun. I have earned back my investment already by being able to treat 2 of my instruments. I started with a cheap epi to learn. Nothing difficult about it just a bit of concentration. as soon as I had finished up came my 30+ year-old semi with super dented frets. My pro tech probably would have got a similar result.
    Thanks Crimson

Ordered in April 2017, arrived in about 2 months, fantastic quality tools. Many fret levels done, a few refrets too. Been using these for like 9 months, they still work perfectly, little wear on the Fret Leveling File I ordered as an extra, it has many uses. First, I leveled most of my guitars, super easy to play now, then I started to do fretjobs for my friends guitars, all of them are happy with them. Now I work in a music store and have done around 4 fret levels to the customers, no negative thoughts, one of them came to give me a handshake for a good job 😀 Now I ordered more tools, so I can do fretjobs for bass guitars and refrets easier. A big thumbs up for the amazing quality tools.

Ermahgerd!!! These are an enormous upgrade to my past setup for fretwork. I just finished my first fretjob since getting these, jumbo stainless steel frets, and these made quick work of the whole job! Very happy!! The quality is impeccable and the handles are about the best things I’ve ever held!

Have done 2 refrets with these tools so far and I have to say I am very impressed by the results. The Notched straight edge, fret rocker and leveling beam are extremely accurate and work beautifully, I really like how thick the fret rocker and notched straight edge are they are much nicer than others I have owned, I also really like the new red paint splatter finish on the tools and the Crimson logo they look really stunning! The crowning file has a beautiful ergonomic handle and makes quick and easy work of crowning frets. The fret rubbers work superbly at bringing the frets up to a shine, on a side note I also tried using the fret rubbers on my mother of pearl inlays that were scratched from the sandpaper in the process of re-radiusing my rosewood fingerboard and the fret rubbers quickly brought the inlays back to a shine which I was super happy with.
